When can I start swimming with my baby?
Normally from 3 months old is a good time to start. You no longer have to wait until they have had their immunisations, any concerns should be discussed with your health visitor, GP or by visiting www.immunisation.org.uk.

What does my baby have to wear?
To avoid any accidents babies must wear a double swim nappy. We recommend a swim nappy (either disposable or reusable) and a secure outer layer (i.e. trunks, swim costume).
Some parents also use a baby wetsuit (which can be purchased from us), although this is not essential. Infant Aquatics will provide some wetsuits on pool side that can be used if required.

What about feeding?
We suggest that you don’t feed your baby in the hour before you swim, you can feed straight after the class.

Can my partner come as well?
We recommend one adult per child in the pool which could be mum or dad, however partners, grandparents etc are welcome and may watch from poolside at most locations.

What about illness?
If your baby is unwell or has a contagious illness i.e. chickenpox, conjunctivitis or sickness/diarrhea it is not advisable to come swimming.

Do I need to bring any equipment?
No, Infant Aquatics provides all equipment including changing mats. However where lockers are available you will need a £1 coin which is refundable.

Do I need to be able to swim to bring my baby?
Not at all, in fact it may increase your own confidence in the water. All pools are approximately chest height or lower.

Do I have to put my baby under the water?
No, although we will show you safe practices and techniques to develop submerging but this is only when you and baby are happy and ready.

Do I need to be a member of the health club?
No

Do you offer a discount for siblings?
Yes, there is a 15% discount for subsequent children.
